Jennifer Sturgis, Vice President, has earned the designation of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional from the US Green Building Council. LEED APs have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles of sustainable design.

Jennifer Sturgis, Vice President, recently completed course training to receive Government Contractor Certification from the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP). The Government Contractor Certificate (GCC) program is specifically for contractors who desire a greater awareness and understanding of public procurement processes and the government purchasing environment.





SEMCO Construction, Inc. is an Authorized Panel Install for Kingspan-ASI commercial/industrial panels. Formerly Metecno USA, Kingspan is a global leader in the design and manufacture of insulated roof and wall panels.
Awards

In 2002, SEMCO Construction, Inc. received a Winning Project award from Metal Construction News magazine for the Pontious Learning Resource Center at Warner Southern College. The original design of the building was standard structural steel and bar joist construction. Through value engineering, SEMCO was able to re-design the structure to a pre-engineered metal building at a cost savings of over $850,000.




The Florida Department of Transportation awarded SEMCO Construction, Inc. for the construction of the Bartow Municipal Airport General Aviation Terminal in 2007. This award is given by the FDOT for one airport project in the state of Florida each year.






The National Commercial Builders Council (NCBC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is pleased to announce that SEMCO Construction, Inc. of Bartow has won a Merit Award, Division III Commercial, in the 2009 Awards of Excellence competition. SEMCO is receiving the award for its submitted entry, Bartow Municipal Airport’s New General Aviation Terminal.
